Disulphide Bond Connectivity Patterns in Protein Tertiary Structure (DBCP)

This database contains proteins of known three-dimensional structure in the PDB that contain disulphide bridges along with the name of the protein superfamily (according to SCOP) in which it is observed. A disulphide bond connectivity pattern is generated for each PDB entry that reflects the number and order of disulphide bridge connectivity based on positions of the half-cystines along the protein chain. This disulphide bridged connectivity pattern (DBCP) can be used to retrieve proteins with identical pattern, and alongwith the protein superfamily name, it may be used to infer the templates that can be chosen to model by comparative modeling methods the distantly related proteins characterized by known disulphide bridged half-cystine connectivity patterns.
