SORTERS

Beckman coulter's Moflo XDP

The MoFlo XDP is a high speed cell sorter with three lasers, 10 colors, and four way sorting capability. It is equipped with a solid state 488nm laser, UV laser, and 638nm. Common nozzle sizes used on the instrument are the 70 micron and the 100 micron. A variety of collection devices may be used including: microscope slides, micro-tubes, 12 x 75ml test tubes, 15 or 50ml falcon tubes, as well as multi-well plates (6, 24, 96, or 384,1536). Smart Sampler protects the sample and user. The collection device as well as the sample chamber can be cooled or warmed during sorting(4-42 degree Celsius) . Index sorting is also available for single cell plate sorting. The sorter is inside of a bio safety cabinet for sorting bio safety level 2 samples. This instrument is operated by Facilty Staff.

Configuration: 10 color, 3 laser (351nm UV, 488nm Blue & 640nm Red) (2 + 5 + 3)

Features

System modularity and exceptional sensitivity for diverse sorting applications

Compatible with array of laser options, MoFlo XDP delivers unmatched sorting capability with high viability, yield and purity at 100,000 analysis rate events/second. Available with biosafety (Class II MSC) containment options.

Engineered to perform

The open architecture of the MoFlo XDP accommodates diverse sorting applications to meet the most demanding research need. The MoFlo XDP can accommodate most visible wavelength laser lines in addition to UV and IR and with an enhanced optical design, it delivers sufficient sensitivity and resolution to reimagine multi-parametric cell sorting.

BD FACSAriaTMFusion Cell Sorter

The fusion of safety, performance, and sorting
The BD FACSAriaTM Fusion flow cytometer delivers exceptional multicolor performance and ease-of-use. First introduced as the BD FACSAriaTM sorter in 2003, this sorting knowhow is combined with best-in-class biosafety expertise for a comprehensive advanced cell sorter and biosafety solution. The fully integrated biosafety cabinet meets emerging operator and sample protection requirements as well as global standards for bioprotection.

Configuration: 15 color, 4 laser (405nm VOILET, 488nm BLUE ,561nm YELLOW-GREEN, 640nm (6+2+4+3)

Features

The BD FACSAriaTM Fusion has been verified to meet personnel and product protection standards for a Class II Type A2 biosafety cabinet, the National Sanitation Foundation International Standard 49, the European Standard 12469, and the Australian Standard AS 2252.2-2009.

To further enhance biosafety protection, while the biosafety cabinet protects the operator from aerosol exposure during a sort, the built-in Aerosol Management System (AMS) also evacuates aerosols. However, the AMS operates independently of the cabinet for an added measure of safety.

Index sorting

Index sorting makes it possible to review the complete cell surface phenotype of every cell sorted into a multiposition sort device, such as a 96-well tray. Sort and tray position information is available on an event-by-event basis according to the X and Y coordinates of the sort collection device. Post-sorting results can be precisely traced back to the flow characteristics of the specific cell.

Digital electronics

The gel-coupled cuvette and electronics operate together to deliver the maximum amount of signal information about each particle. The electronic sampling rate is precisely matched to the speed of the particles flowing through the cuvette. The BD FACSAria Fusion electronic design has demonstrated linear and accurate event data acquisition at up to 70,000 events per second.
