Dr. Venkat Ramaswamy of Birla Institute of Technology (BITS), Hyderabad works at the interface of neuroscience and computer science, using mathematical and computational tools to understand brain and cognition. He’s just started out as a PI, and has gained quite a reputation among students through social media.

Dr. Karishma Kaushik of Institute of Bioinformatics and Biotechnology, Pune heads the Human-Relevant Infection Biology Group which works on several aspects of infection like biofilms, chronic wounds, infection-on-a-chip etc. Relatively new to the PI game, she’s been doing excellently in running her lab and actively partakes in various science outreach and communication efforts.

Dr. Manjula Reddy of CCMB, Hyderabad works on understanding the process of cell wall synthesis in bacteria that has implications in developing potential anti-bacterial agents. An accomplished researcher with several years of experience as a PI, she’s well known among students for her approachable nature.
